43 years ago?

Man I am old…..
Last night Billy Joel helped bid farewell to Shea Stadium, with the last concert at the field (the first being The Beatles historic show 43 years ago); Joel also performed there on Wednesday night, and the entire experience has been filmed for a future documentary.

The Next President

The next president needs to take stock of how eroded and degraded our foreign policy position is with much of the world. One of the lowest hanging fruit opportunities to improve our foreign policy portfolio is to use people-to-people exchange, cultural exchange, and relaxed travel allowances to open up our relationship with Cuba.

So, you say, why don’t [...]

Whatever Happened to “You’re Welcome”?

If you’re as ancient as I am, you can probably remember the time when people responded to your polite “Thank you” with a smile and a pleasant “You’re welcome.” That’s why, like me, you probably cringe when clerks and others respond to your thanks with a curt “No problem.”
No problem? Was there a problem to [...]

George W. Bush, who has expanded his power to access the e-mails and other electronic communications of Americans, is resisting congressional demands that White House e-mails be saved for later research by historians.
function urlEncode (aURL) { return aURL.replace(/&linkID=[0-9]*/,”").replace(‘&’,'%26′); }

Bush signaled he would veto a House-passed bill that seeks to overhaul the Presidential [...]

John McCain’s campaign is in damage-control mode after his senior economic adviser Phil Gramm suggested that the nation’s economic distress was mostly in the public’s head.
Gramm called the downturn “a mental recession” and complained that the United States has become “a nation of whiners.” McCain quickly disassociated himself from Gramm’s view.
